Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Hello Forum!

This is my first time posting but I've been reading the forum for some time. Thought I would take the time to introduce myself and begin to participate. I typically focus my listening on the early years (68-73), I enjoy the jazzier elements the band takes on during these times. I look forward to discovering some new shows and learning more about this incredible music.

Several days ago, while hiking in some bush nearby my place on Poudre River Trail, I found a small baggie with 2 jumbo joints inside it. I've seen perfectly-rolled jumbo joints, that looked just like these, in some of the mmj centers nearby. That's a lot of medicine.

This is the same open-space corridor and recreation trail where the Fort Collins cops almost crashed their Crown Vic cruiser into me while I was riding my bicycle.

Why not stop at '74?

Excellent advice.

Now, who would you suggest as the baddest dude on the yard he should target? Not sure any of us pose much of a threat and whose beat-down would impress the others that much. You could make a suggestion based purely on personal motives, like pointing out someone you just want to see pummled. Me? Well, Dire's been getting pretty cocky and could do with some humble pie.

Lurking implies going about unnoticed. This would work for you, but the lingering odor of bovine "pleasantries" always gives you away.

Howdie . Love the pre-return of Mickey stuff also , but one great thing about the Archive , is that you can explore all kinds of stuff . I have always been a guy who listens to it all, with a strong pre-Brent bias , but lately I have discovered, how good some of the early Brent stuff is .
I have been listening to this stuff since Garcia was not "The Fatman", and his hair was still dark, but some of the folks here as you might have notices, have awesome knowledge, that humbles me, and garners my respect .
LIA's posts are unbelievable ! Check out the "Grateful Dead Guide" (linked on the first page ). Lots of interesting and insightful material, especially for the period you like !

No rocks for me, I like it neat.

Thanks for the warm welcome. My initial introduction to the Grateful Dead was through Dick's Picks so I used those shows to establish what years and tours I enjoyed the most, from there I went about finding shows from those times and digging a little deeper. Thanks for that Dead Listening guide, it looks like a pretty helpful resource. Lately I have been listening to a lot of 1968 and some acoustic sets from 1970. Any particular suggestions along these lines?

LiA has listed the GD Acoustic sets 1969 - 1970. The Forum discussion follows.

Monte's Taper Handbook is my compilation of resources.

I don't drink. But I have an app for that.

I saw these actual rocks you chill, drop them in a rocks glass and pour a dram of Scotch over them to enjoy neatly, yet chilled. Pretty cool idea.
